Community Led Planning

A Community-led Parish Plan is a document produced by the Parish Council with input from the local community in order to set out a vision for the future and outline what can be achieved in an Action Plan, which is used to address a wide range of both problems and opportunities facing the local community.

Askam and Ireleth’s latest Parish Plan was published in July 2019 and was for the following 5 years. This plan assisted the Parish Council, Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumbria County Council with developing and implementing policies and plans for our district. It was very important that the whole of the community had the opportunity to have their say and this will be incorporated into the latest edition of the plan.
