3/09/20/1: A member of the public contacted the parish council via email regarding gas canisters being found on Moor Road near the fishing ponds. Cllr Mike Cumming has reported this to the police and the Clerk has contacted the owners of the fishing ponds, who will check their CCTV.

5/09/20: PROGRESS AND UPDATES FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES
5/09/20/1: Youths on Community Field. There are problems with anti-social behaviour, intimidation and use of BB guns in the Community park area. There are also issues with late night use of the park. The Community Police have been contacted and Cllr Ben Shirley has requested a meeting with them to ask for a greater police presence in the village. Negotiations are taking place to have the gates locked in the evening.

6/09/20: REPORT FROM POLICE AND ROAD TRAFFIC MATTERS
Crime figures for July – 1 ASBO youths on the railway lines at Askam station, 5 Assaults including dog attack on Wakefield Street, still being investigated, hate related common assault Askam play park, assault on resident Hawthwaite House and threats to kill on Duddon Road, criminal damage Hawthwaite House, 1 theft.
Crime figures for August – 2 ASBO youths drinking on Steel Street, Hawthwaite House verbal argument between residents, 2 ABH, 2 criminal damage 1 damage to diggers at Greenscoe, damage to window at Hawthwaite House, 2 theft 1 robbery, ABH and resisting arrest by 2 males on train arriving at Askam station, theft of items from Hawthwaite House by resident, 3 other related crimes.

Re-consultation Reference Number: B13/2020/0300 Location : Armadale Ireleth Road Ireleth Askam Proposal : Demolition of a detached bungalow (Armadale) and the erection of two detached dwellings. The parish council heard representations regarding this application and re-submission from residents. These comments will be collated into a response to Barrow Borough Council Planning and Cumbria Highways.

This application was viewed and discussed. But it was decided that a response would not be sent immediately as the residents of Greenscoe had only just been sent consultation letters and the parish council may receive comments from the residents. The Clerk was asked to respond. Action Clerk
8/09/20: SPEEDING IN THE VILLAGE
Reports had been sent into the parish council and to Cllr Ben Shirley regarding speeding within the village. Speeding seemed to be an issue in many areas. Duke Street especially in the evenings when it seemed to be used as a race-track according to residents. Dalton Road had reports of speeding traffic and concerns had been raised regarding Ireleth Road by parents taking their children to school. Cllr Steven Smalley reported that he was in communications with Police Officer Kevin Jackson regarding speed watch for the village. The Prolaser III speed gun had been ordered and should be delivered this week. Once this had been delivered Steve would contact PO Jackson and he would come to the village to carry out training with the team. If anyone would like to volunteer for the Speed Watch Team, they should contact the parish council.
9/09/20: CYCLE PATH ASKAM TO DALTON
The poor and overgrown condition of this cycle path had been reported to Cumbria Highways after complaints from members other public. The Chairman reported that work was being carried out today on this path. The Clerk will visit the area.

10/09/20: SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE 2020
The Clerk reported that she was in communications with Barrow BC, who were in contact with the Royal British Legion regarding this year’s Services of Remembrance. It was difficult to make any firm plans at the present time and this would be discussed at the meeting in October. Action Clerk
11/09/20: UPDATE ON THE DOCTOR’S SURGERY
A report was given by a member of the Save the Surgery Group. Although matters are proceeding there has been some legal issues and these are in the hands of the solicitors.
12/09/20: UPDATE FROM BOROUGH AND COUNTY COUNCILLORS
Cllr Daniel mentioned that he had attended a meeting of the Community Centre Community. He had also asked for the street sign at High Duddon Close to be repaired or replaced.
13/09/20: REPORT FROM CLERK INCLUDING FINANCES
The monthly expenditure spreadsheet was sent to the parish councillors prior to the meeting. This was reviewed and accepted.

All correspondence had been sent to parish council prior to the meeting. The white paper on planning had been forwarded to all parish councillors for comment. Could all comments be sent to Cllr Cumming who will collate any responses and send on behalf of the parish council.
